CT-29v Multi Room Not Working?

I recently upgraded my amplifiers from (3) TFM 35x's To a Sunfire TGA 5400. I was hooking up one of my old TFM35x's to the multi room output on my CT29v tuner and I could not get any output. The manual states it should work and all I have to do is use the multi room volume control to operate. Anyone have any suggestion before I go buy another pre/processer? Also the owners manual indicates that a multi room IR receiver can also be used.
Do you have to enable the second zone first? I have two sunfires and you have to enable the second zone, then turn it on. Also, it depends on which input you use. Are you trying to run the main input to the multiroom also, or a different input?
