Can i make a 5.1 with AV-405 ?

Any power amp will drive speakers, although you will want a source with variable output. However, you should invest in a Carver (5.1) preamp, which are readily availble on ebay. This will give your unit the volume and tonal control you need to turely enjoy your device. Keep in mind, some preamps have built-end tuners and some are sold seperately (welcome to world of seperates, your best sound option).

After you have found a suitable preamp, slap on a DVD player and you are all set.

i have this amp with another and the powered sub- works nicely.

keep in mind this is a lower powered amp- but still has good power.
