The aircraft on the flight deck and the launching of the catapult at the beginning of the movie have been dialed down and Kenny Loggins singing 'Danger Zone' takes their place. The picture on the DVD is better....if that's any consolation.

I just watched part of that movie the other day. I have to say I agree about the part where they overdid the "Danger Zone" during the action scenes early. I was thinking exactly the same thing when I was watching it. That was a DVD, too. Dunno, overall that movie isn't particularly my cup o' tea, and I bought it mainly for the action stuff. It's a beat to death story overall. Guy meets girl, girl blows off guy, guy proves he's worthy, etc, etc.
It's interesting to watch now just to see the '80s look in action. I know that the vast majority of those here lived through that decade, and it's good for a laugh now. The other thing about that is that no matter how much it's ridiculed now, it'll come back in time. It's all one big cycle.
