Guys looking at ebay and seeing item # 270235930026. A Sunfire TGP-5 processor listed at a little over $1600 new with 10 available. Is this for real??????. I'd have to pay 3400 taxes in for one of these things Even with shipping, GST and brokerage at the border I'd have to come 1000 bucks ahead if this is a legitimate deal. Would appreciate any input on this. It's a Buy It Now deal so I wouldn't have to bid. They mention their company name. Someone may be familiar with it. My biggest fear would be some kind of knockoff. HELP THXS Art
Re: TGP-5 Sunfire Processor
Guys there appears to be a warranty problem with that one however item 200222481558 does claim full warranty and is still a great deal at $1849. Does this still sound like a legitimate deal?? thxs Art

Re: TGP-5 Sunfire Processor
I live in Sussex, New Brunswick, Canada right next to your state of Maine. Long journey ,right. It's from a place called Bay Area Audio. It was on Audiogon for $1899. Guy named Keith Lundell runs it.He had a number of items from Sunfire for sale. I think Sunfire is moving the last of these to make way for the next model. The main listing there was for the Receiver 3 and he had a list of the other models he had available. He is a certified dealer for Sunfire which sounds good to me. With the american warranty I'm not sure how this will work. Probably have to ship it back to the states. Sunfire claims they will not warranty any of their products sold on ebay. Anyway I'm crossing my fingers that this all works out. If it does I will have a reliable guy to get some other products from. There is absolutely nothing available in my neck of the woods. He also carries the Martin Logan line and I will be definitely looking at one of their center speakers in the future. P.S. To order it from our Stereo place here it would cost me 3400 taxes in. Art

Ah, good, not too far from Edmunston then. Another Canadian to add to our north of the border clique! Yeah, as far as the warranty goes, you have to ship it back to the US to the dealer for warranty service, but I'm not sure about the exact details pertaining to it having been sold to a Canadian address.

Just to clairify the geography a bit, I'm about 2000 miles away from Edmunton, Alberta. That's west of me. I'm out on the east coast as is Maine. Art
Re: TGP-5 Sunfire Processor
OOps sorry Edmunston. Right just a bit north of me

Edmonton, Alberta .... Edmunston, New Brunswick ... And here I was thinking that some American would make that kind of geographic mistake ... LOL!!!! Some people down there still seem to think that Montréal to Vancouver is like a half hour drive ....
Yeah, I know your area all right; have family in the vicinity

Did you go with the ebay one or the craigslist one ?
Re: TGP-5 Sunfire Processor
Went with one off Audiogon. Guy has his own business in California . has a website. Just felt a little more comfortable with this individual. Time will tell however. He is also a registered Sunfire dealer. Art
