can't control ct-29v

i can not control this preamp surround functions with the remote i have. is there anyway around this ,other than buying a logitech harmony? i have a programmable carver remote, but it was not fully programmed with all the functions. is there a number code you might be able to enter in the carver remote to control it?

Maybe if you can mail your remote to someone who has the orig. remote, they'd be willing to transfer the commands to yours. I'd do it gladly if I had the remote needed ! Geoff

I can't say for sure what your remote looks like but the one I have is a Theater Master SL-9000. There is a Carver remote that looks the same. Here are the Audio codes

There the same remotes just with each companys name on it. Mine came with my Sunfire TGP II as the first remote on early models before Sunfire had the regular remotes ready. I have a PDF of the users manual somewhere if you need it.

OK, that is what I thought. All you really need is to find someone with that remote and bring the 2 together to teach yours the proper codes with the other one. Maybe one of our members can help you finding with an appropriate remote.

well, broke down and bought a logitech 520 and downloaded the carver remote set up. got the center and surrounds working now. pretty neat remote. i did relearn my carver programmable remote and thats what i'm gonna use mostly. however i did set it so if my wife just wants to watch a movie on the tv,she can just press one button and it turns tv on and to the right channel,turns on the dvd player at the same time.

I have the same preamp my remote died and I just bought the harmony 610 it works great, what a difference compared to other types of universal remotes, this is a quality unit and it is kinda neat using the computer to program it.
