info on a-220 wanted

has anybody on the forum had one of these amps? was it a good amp?is it meant primarily for home theater ?

Not that I know of mewisemagic, but let me chack my handwritten notes to see and I'll get back to you.

to the best of my knowlege the -220 is the little gun in the "a" series. the others being the a500, a760, a732. these amps were designed for use in home theatre. with the -732 driving 3 channels @250 watts per @ 8r(iirc) to the front 3 channels the -220 would be an acceptable driver for the rears in a 5.1 setup.
i currently own both a -500 and -760(both thanks to forum members...cheers MB and MX) and have been looking for a -732 for a while to round out my collction.
both my a series amplifiers are large robustly built amplifiers...never seem to run out of gas.
that being said...if looking for a small amplifier in the 150-250 wpc range(for music) there are many smaller Carver amps to choose from(hmmm m400t,m200t,tfm6cb,tfm15,tfm25 ect.) that would fit the bill nicely at arround the same price point the -220s seem to go for.

Actually, the Corvette début was in 1953 with a Blue Flame 6 cylinder engine. The Vette got its V-8 in 1955 and the 62 was the last year of the original model series. 1963 saw the split window coupe arrive and 65 brought side pipes and the big block 396. 64 was, all in all, an unremarkable year for Corvettes.

The 63 split window coupe is one of my all time favorite cars; possibly one if the finest examples of automotive art ever put on the road, truly deserving to be in the company of all the Italian exotics out there.
