Carver c-1000a
I am very interested in purchasing a Carver c-1000a unit. I am not a audiophile yet, butr I am working towards a nice home theater system. For right now, I feel the Carver c-1000a will fit the bill.
Does anyone know of any interested parties and or audio dealers that may have one for sale?
I am ready to act, so any information would be greatly interested.
Regards,
Paul

Take a look at the HR-895. They are availible on e-bay for <$350.
It is only Dolby Pro Logic 5 channel but it is very full featured for everything else. Due to space constraints I don't have mine set up for home theater but as nice as it is in 2 channel it should be very nice in its home theater configuration.

It's out of production, doesn't have DPLII or component switching and seems to have a overheating problem.
Political Correctness...defined
A doctrine fostered by a delusional, illogical minority and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.
In a recent press conference, President Obama remarked, "If I had a city, it would look just like Detroit."

Dick, check you e-mail! Thanks.
Hey PJK.
Any luck?
I have taken a moment to connect my receiver to a pair of little JVC speakers. My wife now has SOMETHING (FM) to listen too.
I plan to take a couple of weeks off over X-Mas so I'll spend some time setting up my system. The tricky part will be fishing the video/speaker wires under the carpet and sneaking them behind the baseboards.
Please let us know how your purchase works out.
Best regards,
Dick
