Amp Advice

Well, I find the 400x7 is perfect for 5.1 with the mains bi-amped. To go 7.1, I have an A-500x for the back surrounds that I position when I come across that rare Movie that is in 7.1.

Fortunately, I don't listen to movies at ear-splitting volumes — only 2-channel stuff Thus, I've never blown the breaker. I can use all of 1600 out of 1800 Watts to a stereo recording, though. Oh, BTW, the A-500x is on a different circuit.

damn mr. bill. you must really love that set up..been running it for awhile now.
sittin up here in the GWN(great white north ) still wishing for Sunfire but it wont be anytime soon(people this side of the line just dont want to part with them)..
though there is a large VERY heavy box under the tree for me that the wife refuses to even talk about...(in reality its just as likley to be bose or kenwood or some other thing ill have to pretend to like for a month or so )
to the OP...hows about an a760x for the fronts and the -735 for the centers and surrounds rounded out(for 7 channel) with an a500x.
gonna need helluva big speaks to take the power....trust me them a-series will pump when called upon.

You are not kidding Rabbit, as most of you know you can only get up to 1700 watts out of a standard outlet, and that's assuming everything is proper such as proper gauge wire for the demand on the recept, and all everything is healthy at the panel/breaker, that's also hoping your recept isn't "1/4 mile" from the panel with standard wire feeding it (even if it's up to code).... I would definitely get things on a couple recepts, or on a powerplant fed with a dedicated line of something like 10/3 wire. This will only ensure your "welders" I mean amps are not working harder than they need to, you will get better results and your gear will certainly live longer....
