Any good books on tubes?
Anyone know of any good reading on tubes for audio?
Don't waste a good opportunity to shut up!
Good judgment comes from experience, but experience usually comes from bad judgment.
The best thing is to learn from others that have mastered the one thing you need to learn!
I would tell you to go to hell but I already work there and I don't want to see your ugly face every day!

I have one that I like: Elements of Radio (circa '40s). Very much "nitty-gritty" of how tubes/transformers/caps/coils work on an electron basis and covers all the different types (tubes)and advantages of each. This book was classified during WW-II.... It has a unique format in that the 1st half covers all the radio/amp circuts and radio/amp circut elements from a "words" standpoint, THEN the 2nd half covers the mathematics involved. Cool book... OOOooo, good question! If you can get a hold of a copy, Manley supposedly has one of the best reference tube books out there. The last one I saw was a paperback in decent condition and if memory serves, it was at 85 or more dollars before the end of the auction.
I can't comment on anything other than that as I would rather have "The Professional Chef" from the Culinary Institute for 85 than the Manley tube book.

In search of accurate reproduction of music. Real sound is my reference and while perfection may not be attainable? If I chase it, I might just catch excellence.

Hey George. If you would be so kind, could you reserve me a copy as well? They are about as hard to come by as an honest cop.

I say we penalize you 1000 posts so you will stop this crap.
Actually I thought is was about audio books you heard about on the tube.
Back on thread, have sold more tubes than most here will ever buy.

God took 7 days to make the Heavens and the Earth well 6 because on the 7th day he rested and enjoyed his Heavenly TUBE audio equipment who he gave a soul to. He loved his TUBES so much he gave Man a soul and the only way Man can get this close to Heaven without Dieing is through TUBE'S... AMEN!!!

BillD, You will be forever with us! RIP until we meet again on the other side...
