Identifying Carver Speakers
Identifying Carver Speakers
I Am Really Confussed On The Different Models In The Carver Amazing Line.
If Someone Could Enlighten Me To Different Models I Have Seen And Tell Me What They Are.
First Off I Own Two Sets The First Are 5'3" Tall Black Laquer, (4) HONEYCOMB Woofers (silver center) And (2) 30" Ribbons (GOLD Foil) (one set of inputs No Contor Controls)
The Second Set I Purchased The Other Day And I Got Taken BIG TIME I'll Explain Latter
But They Are The Smaller Version (3) Woofers (conventional style) (1) 48" Ribbon (SILVER Foil)
If Someone Can Tell Me What I Own I Would appreciate It
Now Here Is What Else I Have seen
5'3" With (1) 60" Ribbon (I don't know what color) I Don't Know The Type Or Woofer Configuration
Then I See the smaller version In Wood Grain Finish
So Here Is What I am Really trying to find out
The 5 ' 3" Model They Came With The Honeycone and Coventional style woofer is that correct ????
The 5 ' 3" Model They Came With (2) 30" Ribbons Or (1) 60" Ribbon Is That correct ????
The 5 ' 3" Model They Came With Contor Controls and without Contor controls Correct ???????
The 5 ' 3" Model Some Were Bi ampable Is That Correct
Did The Smaller Carvers Come With Honeycomb or Conventional Woofers ??????
Did The Smaller Carvers Come With SILVER And Gold Foil Ribbons ???????
Thanks In Advance for any and all help

A few versions of this exhist. If controls on x-over over and oval holes underneath the "back" on the sides, that would be Platinum MKIV's.
Then I See the smaller version In Wood Grain Finish
Amazing Silvers in Oak.

Folks here run the gamut from dirt poor to pretty well off; no reason to ever be embarrassed.Beachbum wrote:I'm Embarrsed To say Because I Know Probally Everyone In Here Has ALL The HighEnd Goodies And I Am Just Starting To Put A System Together.

Re: Identifying Carver Speakers
Yeah, you got taken a LITTLE bit.
Dynavox/Orevox has a special on Facebook I think where they give a pretty significant discount--I think there they sell the woofers replacements for around $50 each.
A good pair of Silvers could run you up to $800, so maybe you didn't fare so badly after all~

Actually I paid $350.00 for my Silvers with at least 4 bad woofers and a round trip of 700 miles in a rented van to pick them up.
All in all I guess it cost close to $1000.00 but they were perfect at the end and you couldn't buy any new speakers to compare for near that.
You have them now....loook on the bright side.
Re: Identifying Carver Speakers
are the surrounds rotted out/torn, etc....
did someone replace with diffrent surrounds?
if so do they work?
got pics of the offenders....
