Made in U.S.A.

Anybody try these yet ?

Dear Richard:

We're pleased to let you know that the first production run of the long awaited Outlaw Bookshelf Loudspeaker is nearing completion. As mentioned when we first announced this new product a few weeks ago, it is the culmination of over two years of work to bring you a loudspeaker worthy of the Outlaw name.

Those who have already placed their orders should receive a shipping notice some time next week. Remember, these beauties are hand built and individually tested so that each speaker is matched to within ½ dB of our reference standard. This high level of calibration assures that any given speaker is virtually identical to any other. It takes more time to build them this way, but by manufacturing to this very tight tolerance the speakers are able to deliver nearly perfect imaging.

For complete technical details on the design specifics of the Outlaw Bookshelf Loudspeaker, please click here http://ubb.outlawaudio.com/ubb/ultimate ... 00003.html . Additional resources available in the Saloon include photos and the Owner's Manual, which also contains a wealth of information about the speakers.

Our listening tests with a wide variety of sources and program material confirm what we had anticipated, and more. Put simply, these loudspeakers are among the most accurate we've ever heard and represent an incredible value for their price: $999 in black finish and $1,099 in cherry.

As proud parents, we want to give the Outlaw Bookshelf Loudspeaker a proper introduction to the world with the following offer. Since the RR 2150 is, in many ways, the product that initiated the development of this speaker, we are pleased to announce a special combo package. Purchase an RR 2150 together with a pair of The Outlaw Bookshelf Loudspeakers and you will save $150 off the individual pricing: An RR 2150 plus black speakers is $1,498, and an RR 2150 and cherry speakers is $1,598. Together, this combination is a great value for the music lover or movie enthusiast with room for only two speakers. This promotional price is available immediately.

In addition, we realize that many "early adopters" of the RR 2150 would have also purchased the speakers if they were available when they bought their RetroReceiver. To level the playing field, we want to make certain that every RR 2150 owner has access to the package discount price, regardless of when their receiver was purchased. Therefore, anyone who bought an RR 2150 from Outlaw may now order a pair of Outlaw Loudspeakers at a special price of either $849 (black) or $949 (cherry) through April 16th, 2007. After that date, the combination price will only be available to new RR 2150 purchasers.

As a final note, anticipating your questions, it will still be some time before any reviews of the RR 2150 appear in print or on line. This is due to the fact that all reviewers will be getting their samples from this same first production run, and only then after initial orders are filled. The reason for this is that we believe it is important that loudspeaker reviews be made with the listener hearing the final product, not working prototypes that are still in the "tweaking" stage.

Of course, at the end of the day it has always been our belief that you are the best reviewer, and your own home is the best place for the review to be conducted. That is exactly what our 30-day audition plan is all about, for both our speakers AND our electronics. We invite you to listen to these incredible speakers hooked up to your own gear in the only listening room that really matters. We are confident that you will not be disappointed.

To order your own pair of the Outlaw Bookshelf Loudspeakers, or for more information about them, or any of our products, go to http://www.outlawaudio.com. After all, "The Best Values in Home Theater are Just a Mouse Click AwayT"!

Regards,

The Outlaws

Those really don't look like anything special, but I think that adds to their appeal. I wonder how they sound......
You can't fix stupid.

They were actually introduced in the Outlaw forum in January as their long-promised secret project.
From what I have read on the forum, the jury is still out even among the Outlaws. The speakers use SEAS drivers and "audiophile grade crossovers" (whatever that means, I have no idea).
Anyone here listened to Rocket speakers by Onyx? To me, those "read" better than the Outlaws.

Political Correctness...defined

A doctrine fostered by a delusional, illogical minority and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

In a recent press conference, President Obama remarked, "If I had a city, it would look just like Detroit."
