The power supply and transformers were upgraded for the Black Beauties, but I don't know if they're any taller than the cherry 180s. We listened to both the KT120 and the KT88 and I couldn't tell the difference, so I went with aesthetics to make up my mind and the KT120 don't glow much at all, so I picked to KT88s!

Brian, I think it was a picture of your Cherry 180s that made me ask Bob if he could do a "Black Beauty" in that color combination... So I guess a "Thank you" is in order, so thank you! I'm extremely happy with my amps.

How's this for "Pics or it didn't happen" ?? \:D/ \:D/ \:D/

Here's Bob and me in the listening room upstairs. I'm holding one of the new Silver Seven. Those things are HUGE and HEAVY! I must know, I moved them from upstairs to downstairs to take the pictures, then moved them from the floor to the table, turned them upside down to take the pictures of the inside, then took them to his lab bench for final testing before taking them upstairs again for our listening session!! And as you can see, there's 4 chassis, so I had to do all of that 4 times... And I'm not counting the heavy and thick smoked glass that goes on the bottom of each chassis! I don't think I need to go to the gym in the next 2 months!! My amps are the ones on the back towards the right. It was so much fun, we had tubes, cables, CDs and LPs all over the place!

I was aware that the transformers had been upgraded, but I did not know if the size of them was any bigger, it looks like they are not if the fit in the same transformer covers.

I like the Red, you like the Red no thanks are needed.

It's funny you went with the KT88's I just changed my KT88's to KT120's

Nice picture of you and Bob.

I figured if I already spent $8,000 on an amplifier, what's another thousand or two and take a trip to the Seattle area. All I wanted was to receive my amps from his hands, ask him to sign them (which he was going to do anyway), take a picture, shake his hand, and maybe -MAYBE- if he was gracious enough, he'll let me buy him lunch or dinner... I never in my wildest dreams thought I'd be having this adventure for 3 days with him!

(Congratulations on your 100th post! I'm honored that you chose my thread to post it!) =D> =D> =D>

Hey! I'm already here in San Antonio. Right now I have my new amps on top of my bar (see picture elsewhere in this thread), until I decide exactly where I'm going to put them. I want to put it in the fireplace room, but it's only 12X11 and I'd like something bigger to get a better soundstage. My other option is to put them in the movie room upstairs, but I kind of want them downstairs so I can show my guests without having to go upstairs... once I decide where they'll go, I'll contact you and we'll get together to have a listen... what part of town do you live in?
