I just had enough time to get them home and throw speaker wire to them for a quick fix! They didn't sound as good in my room but I didn't have time to even start working on placement and adjusting the crossovers. I will have to say that they do like power, I noticed that leds on my m-4.0t move a lot more than on the other speakers they where driving. I did happen to buy a 7t last week, I might try to run one with the 7t and one with the 4.0 in mono just to see how they compare to each other. I am out of town until thurdsay I hope to do a little playing then.
Congratulations! =D>

Congrats. just use 1 channel of the M4.0t. mono changes sound quality on the amp that way you can compare apples to apples.

I just noticed you said "adjusting the crossovers", which implies you have the much higher quality AL-III, not the + (PLUS) models which had a sucky crossover. If your crossover has 3 adjustment pots, they are NOT the PLUS model. If so, you got a GREAT DEAL!

Yes these do have 3 adjustments on the back of each speaker. Are there any other differences between the 3 and the 3+?

My understanding is the non-plus model was slightly better building materials (wood), but I'm not positive about that. Same woofers/ribbons, though.

Very pleased with the speakers but I havn't had a lot of time to devote to placement yet. I have bought a ct-26v and a 7t and both arrived doa, so that has taken what little time i have.

That really sucks!

Don't know a thing about either one. However, I am sure someone will chime in.

I have to ask, if you just purchased these and they arrived DOA, can you send them back? Or, if you paid with Paypal, dispute and file a claim. Have you contacted the seller and what was his response?

I am stuck with the preamp I already have it open and found what may be the problem, I just need to find the values for a few resistors. They are too burnt to use the color chart. The amp I can return but I may try to look at it first.

Back in town again. Hoping to do a little work on placement and adjusting . I am liking everything so far. I think I have to give the edge to my m-4.0t over the 7t for sound so far. May be sentimental ( I have had the m-4.0t longer than the wife and kids) !

The M-4.0t does have its own unique sound. Some say its exactly the same as the TFM-42/45 but not to my ears. 8)

Thanks for your thoughts. I think I will try to hold out for a m-4.0t.
