Just be careful who you trust for swapping to other "similar" tubes with different numbers! Safest bet is to roll different brand tubes with same number designation. - Enjoy! You are entering a whole 'nother realm in audio!

Yes tubes can become a sickness. I think I have enough tubes for my Sunfire pre to last me till I hit 170.

OK... I had to stop at $450... ish. I thingk I got about 70% of the recommended tubes. I will have to see how these all work out... I still want to get some Telefunk and/or Valvo for the 12AX7, but settled with the Sovtek LPS for my baseline. Listen to me talk like a tube noob!

As far as 12AX7's go my favorite is GE 5751 with black plates triple mica. I use them in the moving magnet phono stage of my Sunfire Classic Tube preamp.
