I've told Bob to send enough parts for 75 amps... The last count I remember was around 60 or so, but I got a bunch of PMs from people asking for 1 or 2 more later. So there should be enough parts including tube for 75 amps.
if we need more, they can be shipped after CF.

I had nothing to do with the switches... If you want one, order or buy one and bring it.
I am bringing a step drill and reamer, so we can open the holes up to what ever you need.
I think the hole is about 1/4" now, but there is room for anything up to 1"

Recommendations for switch for us newbies? It would be nice if all were the same cutout for ease of install. I know somewhere you mentioned what you and your Dad were buying.

Any toggle switch 2 amps or mor will be fine.

I bought myself a different IEC connector that has the fuse and switch built in.
But I had to change my chassis to fit the bigger connector.

Needle nose pliers (rounded/conical ones are best so you don't compress or cut leads)

Small sponge and ceramic/glass bowl.
Extension cords.
Power strips (we'll need 5-10 of them)

alcohol and nylon acid brush for cleaning.
liquid flux for making solder flow better and/or for removing parts soldered in wrong place.
De-soldering Braid or solder sucker (I prefer the braid).

I also have sent a countersinks, step drill, taper drill, 6,8,10-32 taps and handle not sure if these will be needed, but just in case. and a couple of small round and flat files
step drills work great to open up an existing hole, since your chassis will be aluminum, they will cut and drill like butter.
can some one bring 2" wide masking tape, this will protect the finish from the sharps that come from a drilling process.....

I'll bring a case of masking tape, no worries there.

One VERY important thing we need to cover right here and now. Whatever cabin the tube amp build will take place in will require a thorough cleanup by all that are attending. This will not be a volunteer thing, an optional thing or something that one can decide not to be involved with. It's real simple...you build a tube amp? You help with the cleanup of the shards of metal, tape, wires, solder droppings and myriad of other trash left behind by the tube build.

We are still unsure of which cabin this will take place in but we have a pretty good idea of the cabin and layout preferred. It is part of the cabin rules that all confetti, glitter and other trash must be cleaned before departure or the tenant will be charged extra. If the cleaning process they choose [the cabins] happens to involve two people or more to move heavy items, they basically have the right to make that cabin's tenants bend over and pay whatever cleaning charge they want.

For the record...we have not to my knowledge ever been charged for a cleanup fee at any Carverfest to date. That said, it's completely unfair to let the tenants of the cabin clean up [or become financially responsible] after 50 people's mess leftover from said tube amp build. For this reason only, your cooperation will not only be required but also extremely appreciated.

So what is the number of people building amps because I know a few ordered more than 1? I count 20.

Yea, my best bet might be to go bird watching, then pay Gary to put mine together. [-(

Tom or James,

Just wondering, are there any other items to follow besides solder, or is this it as we are nearing the Fest?

Do not forget some sort of portable / folding tables people! Building an amp on the floor will NOT be much fun!!!

Hey Don, sorry, I must have missed this post. Extra hands and a thing of tip tinner would definitely come in handy. We have about 4 tables so far, we could use about two more, FYI. Even if it's just a card table or something.

I bought 3 or 4 pair of the helping hands thingies with magnifying glass for about $4 each; I'm bringing them all so I have spares. They're a little tippy, but you can work with that if you balance it right.
