Bob's Audio Reference Tracks
Bob's Audio Reference Tracks
Having spent the last couple weeks working with Bob on the ALS speakers,
I have heard a lot of the music he uses for voicing speakers.
I thought others might be interested in hearing what he listens too...to voice his speakers.

Re: Bob's Audio Reference Tracks
Good deal. Many years of the best possible self education might make it hard for Bob to actually listen to music and not the sound the equipment. Is that true of Bob, or can he kick back and tap a toe?
Like it or not, you and Bob are almost becoming "one" these days as to his newer equipment ideas.
I know you like the tunes. I was interested to see how you handled your server. Mine has a monitor and mouse, but that ipad? was cool. As my low tech self understood it, an ipad was your remote and monitor?
I liked it all.

Thanks man. I know you know your shit when it comes to server-tunes. So i don't take your praise lightly.
Depending on how things go next year, and if we bring anything at all. I'd be glad to sit down for a couple hours and show you all the in's and out's of the SlimDevices.

Where is the list? I haven't been able to see it since you posted the thread.....unless I'm missing the link or something.

In search of accurate reproduction of music. Real sound is my reference and while perfection may not be attainable? If I chase it, I might just catch excellence.
The best way to enjoy digital music reproduction is to never listen to a good analogue reproduction.

He said that he 'will' make a list. I think that he reserved the second spot in this thread to edit the list into when complete.treitz3 wrote:Where is the list? I haven't been able to see it since you posted the thread.....unless I'm missing the link or something.

Re: Bob's Audio Reference Tracks
I know that Bob uses...
What A Shame, Too Rich for My Blood, and Nardis (from Patricia Barber's Café Blue), I Can See Clearly Now and The Tennessee Waltz (from The Holly Cole Trio's Don't Smoke in Bed), I've Got the Music in Me (from Thelma Houston and Pressure Cooker's Sheffield Lab Direct to Disc LP) and a track that escapes me just now from Neil Diamond's Hot August Nights, and Flight of the Cosmic Hippo (from Belá Fleck and the Flecktones album of the same name) for deep bass extension.
To get started.
