What did you ever end up doing with your fuse issue?
viewtopic.php?f=15&t=12507&p=121917#p121917I replaced my original woofers with Infinity Kappa Perfect 10.1 woofers (they are car subs) which are an excellent replacement. The problem is, they don't make that model anymore. The new 10x1 Perfects have a changeable pole piece and are less efficient (by over 4 dB) & don't go quite as low. So you have to keep checking eBay to find a used pair that haven't been totally trashed by some young dipshit.
James (Toy Maker) & Alex are running JL Audio woofers, but they are considerably less efficient, which would necessitate using an outboard crossover to raise the level of the woofers to match the ribbons.
If you simply want to keep the original woofers & refoam, be sure you find surrounds that are not only the same DIAMETER fit but they need to be able to flex fully as much as the original ones did (extension or XMax).
