Re: PDR System Updates

Update....

As of now I do not own any Sunfire gear....kinda a sad day.
There was no point in having a high end 5ch amp and processor driving a 2ch system with 97db speaks...
And we hardy watch movies anymore, so sold the 5400 and the TGP5...

With all the pics of your guys Carver tube amp build.....in case you didnt notice I am very jealous...
I thought I'd show some pics of my new tube amp. This was designed by a fellow in my home town
but built in China. The amp is not quite as powerful as the Carver, its only 15w. It really sounds wonderful, I am very impressed. Its all point to point wiring, and uses 6550(2), 6J8P(4), 12AT7(2).

When I met the designer, I asked if he could repair my GF A-88 tuber, he said yep. A week later and only $100 lighter, he repaired and serviced it......works like new again.

The cost......$625.00

Re: PDR System Updates

Perry,

Beautiful amp. =D> No need to be jealous. You have not seen the wiring job on Matt's amp or the one I started. Too bad you are not closer. It would be interesting to compare the sound of the two.

Does this gentleman make a pre-amp? Website? I will be looking for a pre-amp for my Carverfest tube amps. Currently, using my Marantz 2270 pre. Does an good job, but wanting a different, more compatible look.

If attending RMAF, check out the little tube amps by NAPA Acoustics. Heard at audio show in Atlanta, fairly impressive for very little bucks.

Re: PDR System Updates

Had a friend come over thats a pro photographer, she takes pics of our horses. She came for a social visit and didnt bring her equipment, but her 14 yr old daughter had her camera with her. She took some shots.....very cool. Better than I could ever take. Said next time she would bring her stuff and get some good shots....I just laughed and thanked her a lot.
