Another Newb, Another Intro...

Post by sisu1a » Thu Oct 20, 2011 3:03 pm

Howdy Folks,

Not sure how many people actually read through the fascinating updates on the welcome mat, but I suppose I should start here on this site since I've been enjoying this site and wouldn't mind occasionally contributing. I'm an audio enthusiast, as I'm sure anyone into this enough to the point of joining forums like these... Depending on perspective, I am or am not an audiophile, and frankly the longer I'm in this sport the less I know what that word even means. :/ Truth be, I'm way too bottom feeder to even apply, let alone qualify, and as such have even started taking up the dirty habit of taking the lids some of these devices and playing surgeon. :^o OK, doctor. Fine, nurse. ;) I love reading through the mods and repair stuff and learn a great deal lurking here and other sites. Well, at least enough to get myself in trouble...

I started paying closer attention to Carver gear after having owned a Sunfire MKII sub, but have owned little or even listened to much as of yet. My system is 'in between' Carver gear right now, so I'll wait till I re-Carverize the group (no, this does not mean screwing rack handles on all my other gear. relevant: Antonio, I WANT THAT C-1!) before listing it, work in progress yada yada; I don't think anyone here will get too excited over it anyhow, since it's kinda a mutant 2ch/HT thing and my room is too small to use giant speakers with 1.21jiggawatt amps...

Anyhow, looking forward to more.

-Paul

Welcome Paul!! =D> You don't have to be an audiophile to enjoy music and Bob Carver gear.
In reality, it only matters what it sounds like to YOU!!!

From what I gather, "audiophiles" are never happy with what they have, think "yours" sounds like shit and if you haven't spent atleast a grand in cables you're a nobody!  All jokes aside, =D> =D> Welcome!! =D> =D> I've had / have several systems and have put together numerous systems for other people, mostly budget systems, but you can get really good sound for relatively cheap, in fact Carver gear is great for that.

Welcome from another Non-audiophile.

I'm just not delusional enough.

But I do like good quality music played through a good quality system.

I think you will find Carver/Sunfire delivers that at a better value than anything else available.

Welcome to the Carver forum. Pull up a chair and cop a squat. Make yourself at home.
In search of accurate reproduction of music. Real sound is my reference and while perfection may not be attainable? If I chase it, I might just catch excellence.

The best way to enjoy digital music reproduction is to never listen to a good analogue reproduction.
