New to the forum and have question

In the midst of buying a used Carver Preamp/Tuner (CT-28V) to replace the two Adcom preamp tuners I have gone through in the last 5 years ...for some reason they just don't seem to last too long.
I currently have a Carver TFM-35X amplifier that powered up the Adcom unit and in looking at a picture of the back of the used CT-28V ...I dont see a pre-out hookup for the amplifier. Although the pictures aren't that great - will this preamp work with my amp before I go through all the trouble to purchase it and then find out it has the wrong hookup ? ...my typical luck !

Any help would be appreciated.

WELCOME!!! The Carver preamp has typical pre-outs for hooking up an amplifier, you'll find them easy when you get the unit.

Welcome to the forum. All preamps have hookups to attach an amp.

That's what I thought - but in looking at the back of the unit, I don't see the pre-outs.

Top picture, right under the serial number are the preouts. That's a 5.1 preamp so you can add a 5 channel amp plus a sub or just a 2 channel off the front outputs.

So ...I'm assuming I would plug into the two L&R connections labeled "Front" ? The set furthest to the left ?

The CT 28V is a nice pre-amp. That is the amp I first purchased back in the day with my TF 15CB. I still have both of these, just can't get rid of old carver stuff!

I ended up finding a very nice pristine condition CT26-V preamp from a guy locally about an hour away for $100.00
The next night I set everything up and I'm not sure the sound quality is as good as the Adcom preamp. Sounds kinda hollow echoish ...I don't know. Will have to mess around with the settings a bit.

Guess I'll have to get used to it - maybe it'll grow on me.
For $100.00 with original box, remote and manual - what the hell !

That was a good deal if it's in good shape. I like some of the adcom amps but all the preamps I ever tried were WAY too bright for my klipsch speakers.
