Right now I'm just have Smaller Advents in a 2 channel set up. Room setup is not conducive to surround setup.
Once we get my brother's house built, I'm thinking about swapping with his HR-752.
His mains are Sony, Pioneer, or Sanyo 3 ways. Don't know the model numbers off hand but they would have been high end about the time the amp was new (late 80's)

These sound pretty decent with Klipsch or Polk mains.....they have a grade higher than these as well.

Re: Surround Speaker Suggestions Wanted
I have a pair of KLH's (140 watts max) in perfect shape and a pair of refoamed EPI 70's (easily good for 50-75 watts). If you want picks, PM me, Packratt. The EPI's are very detailed and would make excellent rear channel SS speakers... Can give you a great deal on all four (or three if you need to save shipping costs...). They just taking up room for me. The KLH's are listed on Orange County Craig's list with pics... I probably could send you a link to the old eBay ad for the EPI's.... Ed

As said, I 'd keep Klipsch with Klipsch. Their KSB series bookshelf speakers make great surrounds (KSB 1.1, 2.1, 3.1). What kind of budget?jjptkd wrote:Klipsch!![]()

"Can be either DIY or factory built..."
That sort of answers the "what's your budget?" question....
Sure, Klips are great, but kind of "overkill" for use in rear speakers for a SS system....IMO!

Was referring more to the implied budget implications than size.....I could sell him all three for ~$100...plus shipping (always a bitch these days!) unless he's close enough to pick them all up... Whatever.

"DIY" COULD mean "stick a driver in a box and hook it up".......Certainitly does not imply "money is no object". Why do have to always be difficult, Herr Rabbit??

Re: Surround Speaker Suggestions Wanted
That's one reason why I really like the KSB line, I have a pair of mint ksb 1.1s I paid $50 for shipped. I don't even need them! I also just picked up a near mint set of ksb 3.1s for $100 shipped, my third pair that I have no use for. In my opinion, they're just a lot of speaker for that kind of money. Christmas is coming up and people regularly ask me to throw together budget systems for their garage, game room or for a friend so I just keep them around.
