If I were you, and don't quote me on this, I'd hook them up and see if it works or not, especially if you got a warranty with the receiver.
If the receiver really does not like the load it should go into protection rather quickly, which is designed to protect the unit and the speakers. Either way though, running all 4 ohm speakers on an entry level unit will at minimum cause it to run hot, which according to the few reviews I've looked at, your unit already has that problem anyway.
