Carverfest tube amp design stolen already???

Found posted on another forum.....

For anyone interested, Underwood HiFi has a handmade version of Carver's soon-to-be released $1,500 amp for $800. The amp was made by an associate of Bob's who will be assisting in the general production of the full line-up. I guess the amp was a test model.

I can't find anything on Underwood's website and the associate is at this point unknown. Regardless, not cool unless this was authorized by Bob himself.

Re: Carverfest tube amp design stolen already???

That's not cool at all, can't imagine mr. Carver would allow that, giving away his design to someone so they can sell it at half price? =; Doesn't make much business sense. ](*,) ](*,) Hopefully someone gets in touch with him right away to make sure he's aware of this.

I almost bought it from him but he said someone else on the forum was interested as well. Supposedly he was going to be building several and offering one up about every month, haven't heard anything since though. :-k

what the hay is going on here. i thought we only had to worry about the china man making copies, not a true blooded usa person. i say it's time to mount up and do what americans do best, go to war, break, blow up and kill somebody. now about the schematics, maybe it's time to pull that plug. hobby is one thing, but this is another.

Re: Carverfest tube amp design stolen already???

I looked at the above mentioned site and could not find where he was selling the amp. I did see that he is selling the 305's and the cherry 180's so he must be a dealer for Bob's new line of products. If this is true Bob may have rethought his asking price for our units. We will have to wait till he prices it on his site. Lets hope everything is on the up and up.

Everyone is right, I did not sell one on eBay. eBay pulled my listing because the account I set up was too similar to my father's info and I was trying to use his paypal account (I don't have any bank info to set one up with)

I have not sent ANY amps to anyone OTHER than a forum member..... (just to clear that up)
I have emailed Jordon and asked for a little info on how many he built so far and how many he has given away/sold.

This is a HUGE issue.......

I thought it might be, that's why I posted it. I didn't think Bob would be too pleased with this. It was actually posted by a cat I used to chat with all of the time over at the PF. If memory serves, his real name is Mike and he's as good as they come. I have not one complaint with him and I consider him a good friend, even though I haven't been posting on that board since the BS with GG and the mods protecting him/deleting posts as he spewed his diarrhea out of his mouth about Carver gear, our friends and forum members here.

Anyhoo, his moniker is SolidSqual and please treat him with the utmost of respect. HE has done nothing wrong. It was just something I noticed that he posted that I thought might be of interest to Bob and the forum members here. Mike is a well respected guy by many, once again, please treat him with the utmost of respect if you or anybody else has any contact with him. This is very important to me. Anyhoo, here's the post....

....and it is found on an atypical Bob bashing/support/BS thread so typical with that forum. here's the thread...
