CT-29V surround & multi room output questions

I am trying to hook up my surround amp to my ct-29v, it is a tfm 15 but when I hooked it up it seems I am only getting sound from 1 channel, the other channel is on but is really faint, and I tried a tfm 6cb and the same thing,is this normal? Also I'm not too pleased with the way the front speakers sound when in surround mode and I tried all of the different modes. Also I want to use my multi room set up to run 2 tfm 6cb's bridged but I don't have the original remote to turn on the multi room switch, I have a harmony remote and there seems like no possible way to download the info needed to have a multi button on it. I would have to have the original remote for it to learn the function from, does anybody know how I can turn on the multi room feature without the original remote? system consists of a CT-29V preamp, TFM 55 front channel amp,TFM 35X sub amp
CT-29v,TFM-55, PM 1200

Re: CT-29V surround & multi room output questions

In order to use the multi room feature on your CT-29 you will need the entire multi room set up. This consists of the actual mult room receiver unit with cable, credit card size remote, and user manual. If you do not have all of the above you will not be able to use that feature.
As far as hooking up your surround amp. goes you should simply follow the instructions in your owners manual and it should give you all the info you need..... Try that and let us know how it works for you... :D

Not quite Jag. That is just an 80WPC second zone amp. What he is most probably talking about it this:

This multiroom kit gives you second zone remote control capability with any of Carver's Dual Zone products. Simply install the infrared receiver on a table top or mounted in the wall in the additional room, connect the sensor to the Carver Dual Zone component using the 50 foot cable supplied, and you have convenient remote control of all key system functions via the credit card sized remote which is included.
Why let facts or common sense get in the way of your opinions.

Re: CT-29V surround & multi room output questions

Actually the multi room unit for the CT-29v is the same for the HR-895. It consists of basically an I/R receiver module with a cable that connects to the 29v and a small credit card sized remote. I will post a picture of the multi room unit itself when I find it....
I just wanted to make sure everyone knew these are required in order to use this feature... :D
