Carver Lightstar Reference - 4 sale

Hey Tom...what's the chance of asking the cabins to install a 30 amp dedicated cuircuit in one of the cabins or maybe 2 so we could really find out the limits of the "Super" amps?

Better yet...why don't we gather up the wire and sufficient breakers and do it ourselves? We could run a so called drop cord of wire with a plug in attached directly from the breaker box.... that way it's temporary...

I have about 100' of spare 10 gauge 4-wire. That shit is EXPENSIVE! I think I can scrounge a 30-amp breaker, too.

You are sooo right!!!! Tom...will you call the cabins to see what kind of boxs they run????? I don't know why this hasn't been thought of earlier!!!!!

I once attached a pair of 2-gauge jumper cables to the mains & hooked a pigtail to the other end.....I don't recommend it & will certainly never do that again~

Buncha wussies! I work beside those transformers every day! I was only kidding, though. I'm sure Duke Power wouldn't like us "stealing" power from them, which is exactly what will happen if we tap straight off the transformers. You can always tap after the meter but that's the same thing as using the breaker.

As far as asking the cabins what type of circuit breaker they use? I'm not so sure that would be a good idea. If all we need is one of two types of breakers, I would buy both of them and return the unused one after Carverfest.....or just get the one we need while we are up there.

What ever you guys do be careful messing with electricity. I don't want you to end up like this guy!

As an alternative to buying breakers, why not just either tie into a dryer recep or get a plug of the same type as the dryer's and make an "extension cord". You could also "re-task" an existing high amp breaker in the panel temporarily. Edit just make sure to keep voltages the same, split the "legs" for 230v circuits.

The Lightstar is over built and dual mono. It's also a awesome sounding. I have never heard the Sunfires but I have been told that they don't sound as good as the Lightstar.

I'll bet you $100 you can't tell the difference in a blind test.
