The Lightstar direct creator was a Carver engineer called Brian Asse. I know this was an earlier thread, but thought I would mention it. Sad to say that Brian passed away a few years ago.
I have the prototype preamp and found the remote not long ago. Hopefully I will be able to get it going.

Re: Lightstar Direct Creator
Good to hear from you again Steve! Thanks for the update.
In reality, it only matters what it sounds like to YOU!!!
Re: Lightstar Direct Creator
oops, his name was Brian Aase, a great engineer and one of the team of high quality engineers who worked for Carver. One sign of a good engineering team is there are not so many service bulletins!
Good engineering, service department, manufacturing, and good technical support and manuals. All of them make a company to be proud of. Now it is part of Lynnwood park and ride. But the music goes on.
