Carver M & TFM Series amps
Since this board has lots of folks that are constantly looking at Carver gear on eBay I wanted to get some knowledge on what the going rate seems to be on a couple amp's. I am looking to possibly acquire a 2 channel amp to drive my LSi 15's but I want to make sure I don't overbid on something.
I am specifically looking for kinda a ballpark cost for the following amps, and any hidden costs that tend to pop up with any of the particular amps:
M1.0t
M1.5t
TFM-35
A-400x

Re: Carver M & TFM Series amps
1.0t $300ish...TFM 35...$360ish...A400x...$260ish...no experience or have never had the other. BTW these are ballpark prices from my experience. I've seen them all go alot higher but that is what I'd expect to pay.
In reality, it only matters what it sounds like to YOU!!!

Re: Carver M & TFM Series amps
Thanks guys! Anything know to be wrong with any of thee particular amps? I ask because I didn't know about the bias shift issue on the 4.0ts and want to make sure I know what I might be getting into.
Looking like the a-400x and 1.0t are what I would be looking at as my budget would be 250.

Re: Carver M & TFM Series amps
As with any vintage amp, you need to know if the amp has been serviced or if there are any issues with it. Chances are, an M1.0 WILL need servicing if it hasn't already been.

Re: Carver M & TFM Series amps
I just watched a TFM-35 go for $550 plus $59 shipping. I thought that was a little high. Kind of been want a 35 for the video game home theater area. Right now is mostly video games and I have the 600x2 on it. A little overkill I must say.

Re: Carver M & TFM Series amps
So if it was a TFM or the A-400x I might not need to worry as much due to the fact they are newer amps correct?TNRabbit wrote:As with any vintage amp, you need to know if the amp has been serviced or if there are any issues with it. Re: Carver M & TFM Series amps
If that deal falls through let me know, I have a 400x that's just been sitting around not being used I'd let go for $200 shipped. No rack handles and minor signs of wear but it works good and sounds great. PM me with your email address if you want pictures and or if you're interested. I was just going to keep this around for back up but sounds like you need it more then me.
