Wish I could find a A-760x in near mint condition. What could I expect to pay for it without upgrade? After it has had a upgrade ?

Re: New Guy
They're pretty steep. I think in the $650 range, give or take.
I've not heard of any mods for them....
....and WELCOME!

Re: New Guy
Not so much a mod, but a over haul with new components ...Such as what Rita does or fully restored and upgraded by Rolland Barr (Hi-Tech Audio - from CarverAudioRepair.com)

Re: New Guy
Thanks
Love to game , right now Bullet Storm
Preamp is inexpensive but sounds great (XiangSheng NEW 728A Vacuum Tube Hi-end Tube Pre-Amplifier) tight budget and holding back some funds for the A-760x
Tubes 12AT7×2、12AU7×2、6Z4×2 ...Have upgrades on order
The pre-amplifier is improved and based on famous Wada Shigeho's Style Electric circuit,
which was Introduced by Wada Shigeho in the early 1960s and gave an excellent performance.
Regarding the Wada Shigeho's Style Electric circuit,
it not only still keeps the good features of Marantz7,
it has superrior features in Dynamic,
High/lLow Frequency Response, Resolution and Signal to Noise Ratio as compared to Marantz7.
But apart from above features, it’s also not inferior to Marantz7 in Sound stage and airy feeling.
Adopt 4pcs paper in oil capacitors and German WIMA capacitors for coupling effect,
make the sound warm and delicate.

Re: New Guy
Hello and welcome to the Carver forum, Mr. Jazz. Glad to see you here.
In search of accurate reproduction of music. Real sound is my reference and while perfection may not be attainable? If I chase it, I might just catch excellence.
The best way to enjoy digital music reproduction is to never listen to a good analogue reproduction.
