carver c-1000
Good morning all, Does anyone know about the carver c-1000 would this make a good receiver for the home or would I be better off with grand theather proc. 5 I understand that has a pre/amp built into it??

The C-1000 was the precursor to the Sunfire Ultimate Receiver. There are NO parts available for them anywhere, so I advise against it unless your getting it for a steal & it's fully functional. They run HOT, too.
The TG-5 is a processor only, no amp. It does not process HDMI, either, if that's what you're looking for. What exactly do you need? Perhaps we can steer you in sound (pun intended) direction!

The tgp-5 will pass video via hdmi, just no sound, otherwise everything else rabbit said.
