490t tube change time??

Here is an improperly listed 12AU7 TFN pair on eBay, these will work in a 12AX7 application.

Mullards are nice- a bit more "reserved"- but sometimes you need that!
I also like RFT's 12AU7's - the ones with the RAMs head logo made in East Germany- they are a good bit brighter than the Mullards, but town down to just right after @ 50-75 hrs usage. Have fun rollin! The trick is finding the best combo for YOUR gear- as it tends to differ from one amp manufacturers circuit design to the next. ~Cheers!~

Nope. That's a different tube family. This is the tube family 6N6P / ECC99 / E182CC

OK I was thinking that they would folllow the 6DJ8 format where an E88CC and E188CC are the same family. Speaking of 6DJ8 have you tried any of the E288CC's I have heard they are not as popular but sound everybit as good as an E188CC.

Never heard of those. The only thing left on my 6DJ8/6922 list are Valvo's, the red label VR6 in particular and the pinch waist Amperex PQ's.

I found some E288CC's on line at tubeworld.com made by Siemens for Valvo and Philips. Those babies aren't cheap.

First thing I noticed is how big these tubes are! Quite abit bigger than the tfkn's. They have a good soundstage, the high end is rolled back a little which is good for my system. They kind of remind me of a mullard. Less ear fatigue when listening to rock music. Something strange is they seem to "slow down" the recording, maybe because they are so quiet?? So far me likes!

Those might be Mullards that were sold to Siemens and labeled Siemens. If so they should be the same as the Mullards you already have. Chauss should know for sure. Send him a pm.
