How many watts per channel do you run with?

At the moment we (toy maker and i) are pounding my Modded AL III's with a single lightstar, but hopefully soon, i will be able to pull my PT1800 out and biamp the ALIII's with tue PT2400 that im getting from Eric!! ^_^ cant wait to dump 1500 wpc into these babies!!!!

575 Rms @8 front - silver 9t
380 rms @8 rear - TFM-55

Speakers are 4 ohm, though.

Two TFM-45's driving bi-amp AR9's (4 ohms).....so it works out to ~1000 watts per channel.

Another TFM-45 driving AR-LST's (4 ohms) so that's another 500 watts per channel.

I don't run both sets at the same time.....I'm sure they would pop a circuit breaker!

Sunfire 400 - five bi-amped to my Klipsch Chorus IIs. Woofers are 4 ohms so 800x2 plus I'm guessing 400 watts to the horns? for a whopping 1200 rms per channel.

With both, I want it to be as accurate as I can assemble and afford.

Some speakers need more and some just as good need less.

I don't think you can have too many watts, but I don't think that is the final test of a system.

Chris...you need a Sunfire 400x5 or 600 x 2 to make em sing. Bite the bullet...it will make a big difference in how they sound.

There have been some great buys on ebay lately. I believe the last 600x2 went for around $1200!!! That is a steal!!!!! Be patient and keep looking...there is a 400x5 on there now, but listed as a parts unit. From the description the bulb burned out may be all that is wrong.

As an alternative (& easier to find), TWO Sunfire 300x2 amps would run them fantastically in parallel mode for about the same price as a 600x2.

I was thinking that too. I'm trying to get that one. Not totally sure how much I'm willing to gamble on it. It's been hell trying to find a 400x5 or 400x7 at a decent price lately.
