C-1 help please

Have a C-1 that was part of a package deal, the C-1's functions all work except for the balance control. Balance control L/R functions seem to be wrong speakers regardless if the interconnects are swapped, right is always left and vice versa. Would anyone have any clue whats wrong? Thanx

Swap the speakers cables on the amp ??

yes, swapped interconnects and speaker cables at the amp, what I need to know is if that balance control is a pot or what. It definately needs replaced. Probaly should have just opened it up and took a look see since doesnt look like much help in here.
