Broken Lightstar Amp on eBay

A poor job of listing/selling this amp..IMO. What's the point of a $1500 BIN when he basically states "make an offer...reserve price is much lower than than BIN price". Who'd then be stupid enough to pay his BIN?? Must think we're stupid (or something). Also, how about some specs along with how much we'll have to spend to get it fixed?

I talked to 2 techs about repair( one local to me and the other in Washington State who has all the Carver parts. Without tearing unit apart

Not counting $100+ x 3 for shipping (him to you, you to Rolland and Rolland back to you) plus a 12+ week turn around (to find out if its even repairable)... Have to want one pretty bad to take a chance on this IMO.

Yeah...BIN price does not compute. Until fixed, it's basically a boat anchor...and they don't sell for $1500. If the prospects for fixing are good, only the seller could know this and HE should be the one to get it fixed and then sell it for the going rate (of a just repaired and/or refurbed Lightstar). Otherwise, who wants to gamble more than a few hundred $'s on it?? Especially when you can get a newer, working Sunfire at 300 w/c for a lot less (~$1000). Whatever...let the buyer beware, etc.

It is worth about $3.50 with one channel not working IMO. Get it fixed, and then put it up for $2k!

Well, it could be channel number 5 in a five channel setup if you already have 4 more channels of Lightstars........

But know anyone with four channels of Lightstar power who needs ONE more channel? I don't... ("Hey, what's powering those little rear and center speakers of your SS? Oh, this stack of Lightstar amps here....overkill, yes; but it sounds great! But I still need a fifth channel " ).
