Re: Newbie's system
Thanks. Sunfire is in the shop. Rabbit - My basement is almost completely underground so it's cinder block, wood studs and 70's thin paneling. I'd get weird echos/noise off the back wall, this fixed that issue.
NOW PLAYING: Melos GK-1, Carver 305 monoblocks, FunkFirm Vector TT, Arcam DAC, MacMini w/JRiver, Philips CD-80, Revox B77, River Current AL-VIII speakers, River Current Cables

Yea, see what you mean. Those panels got me reading on room design and speaker placement.Scarabeo wrote:Nice Match on the Speakers and the EAR!!!OconeeOrange wrote:Nice match on the TT and speakers.

Re: Newbie's system
Thanks! Tom at vintagehifipgh and I had been talking about this for awhile. We wanted to make a modified amazing silvers that had the drivers facing the sides and a few other ideas. I went with this. A 48" ribbon /8" driver /9.5" width /15" deep with a slotted port on the back. I think they are 59" tall. The cabinets are made out of oak and some plywood. The imaging is awesome and little driver does a good job of providing a punchy bass.
Here's a few pics of the building process. I guess I should have started a new thread.
