Could not find/get any Blackgates,, so I'll be installing some OS-cons (100UF) electrolytics to replace the ones in her for cathode bias. Easy-peasy!

Its going to be used equipment when I sell it, so it may as well be used equipment when I buy it.

Well,, I am impressed with the detail and speed at low volume,,so I cranked it up a bit and I get some funky sounds,,,check tubes,,, check my solder connections,, problem still persists,, agonize for about a hour-- pull the amp,,everything appears fine-- then I spot it,, seems as though I forgot to replace the jumpers on the speakers after I pulled the ones from Dougs' cable tour--- anxiety now diminished,, the detail that the puppy is puttin' out is incrediable,, sweet sound I say,, in my best Foghorn Leghorn voice-- damn,, this is nice--and yes Ray,, I have some xtra caps left for you and Harry(if ya'll want em). Life is good!!

for the past couple of weeks one of my CF amps had been acting up. POS cat bumped one of the tubes. Tonight I took it out to the garage and flowed all of the solder joints on that side of the amp and all is well. Hot damn!!!!

What input tubes are y'all using in your CF amps?

Is the 12 volt conversion a good idea?
