Re: CF Amp Mods

George the only reason to use the 7189's is if the unit remains as designed once the zener mod is done it is not necessary.

Anders built my 2nd amp and Mikey did the Zener mod at CF12. I still need to get some new RCAs and binding posts to match the ones that were included in the amp chassis James modded.

I really like the the Peavey EL84s I finagled at CF12 in these amps, although I'm looking at a set of TAD(tubeampdoctor) Cryoed EL84s instead of going whole-hog and trying to find a set of NOS Mullard or Telefunken tubes. I want to wait until I get my Caps in and some of the 2.2k resistors(Mills or PRP) swapped out in the audio chain to see what it sounds like before I make a tube change.

Re: CF Amp Mods

I beleive I got them from that cryoset store online, been quite awhile, bought them late in 2011, bought some cryo mullards the same time, never even took them out of the boxes yet, will probably bring them to the fest to try out!
