How do I tell which receiver I have?

Post by lipwak » Wed May 29, 2013 4:19 pm

Hi,

I received a Carver receiver from a friend. I don't know which model it is. How can I tell? The manual was published in 1983. It appears to be a MXR-150. The specs on that say it has 150 watts output. My manual says it has 130 watts. I haven't compared all the specs but they look visually the same.

I don't see a model number on the unit. It has a serial # K 41001376.

Thanks for any help. I'd be happy to supply any other info but don't know what is needed at this point.

Cheers,

John L

Thanks! Any recommendations on a good way to clean the front? Isopropyl alcohol? I used some tape head cleaner on it (probably isopropyl alcohol, right?) and while it's improved, it has a long way to go. I just want to be sure I don't damage the printing.

Never!!!! NEVER!!! use windex or any ammonia based cleaner!!!! I would test a small spot before I even attempted to swipe something on the face.

That was me. It was tape head cleaner, probably from Radio Shack. I assumed it was isopropyl alcohol. I won't use Windex or anything with ammonia. Thanks.
