Black Magic 20w tube amp problems

Post by MRHP » Mon Jul 08, 2013 7:13 pm

One of my 20w per/ch black magic has a problem.

In mono mode the swich on the rear has to be set in the stereo mode. Also have to use the right channel rca plug in and speaker plug ins. This is opposite to the instruction manual. It work perfectly fine if setup this way for mono block application.

In stereo mode it plays the right channel thru both speakers.

Any ideas??? I might send it to the Toms if they think it can be fixed by Carverfest.

Sounds like the stereo/mono switch is backward. When you switch it to stereo it's really running mono.

I wonder if the switch is just upside down, in regards to the mono/stereo tag

May have found the problem. The mono/stereo switch is definately wired backward compared to my other amp whick doenst really bother me. But we definately have a loose wire thats supposed to go to the left rca input.

Notice the little red box(mono/stereo switch), the wires are opposite each other.
