m1.5t amp buzzing from both channels

Post by zutroye » Mon Jul 22, 2013 11:47 am

Hi everyone,

I picked up a M1.5t from a garage sale this weekend. The amp works fine except for a loud buzzing coming from both speakers. The buzzing happens all the time (connected to preamp or not). When connected to the preamp, the buzz does not increase when the volume is increased. I know that the problem is not with the speakers, since they sound fine with a different amp.

Any ideas? I'd love to give this old amp some new life.

Most likely a cap going bad somewhere. Send it to one of the shops mentioned here and have a re-furb done on the amp....will sound like a new amp and you'll be good to go with this amp for another 20 tears! - Ed
