New to the site and Carver Amps!

Post by GusGus748s » Mon Aug 26, 2013 1:48 am

Hi, my name is Gustavo, but most of my friends call me Gus. I living the Central Valley CA, where Home Theater systems are pretty hard to get...if you want the good stuff. People around here think that Bose is the best! [-X Anyway, my current set up is as follows:

Front L/R: Polk Audio Monitor 70 II
Center: Polk Audio Monitor 25c
Surround: Energy EF-500
Surround back: Jamo S426
Sub: Dual Klipsch RW-12D
AVR: Pioneer SC-1522-C
Amp: Carver TFM-35

I just recently got the Carver amp, which I was using to drive my Monitor 70's. This amp was my great uncle's amp, which he got in the early 70's. My uncle passed away, and my father had the amp. He wasn't really using it so I got it. I used it for 3 days, and it was excellent until today. I will open another thread with my amp issue, I just wanted to introduce myself!!

Welcome, Gus!

FYI: I seriously doubt that TFM-35 is from the early 70s. I don't believe they started building the TFM series until well into the 80s.

Hey Gus!
Don't waste a good opportunity to shut up!

Good judgment comes from experience, but experience usually comes from bad judgment.

The best thing is to learn from others that have mastered the one thing you need to learn!

I would tell you to go to hell but I already work there and I don't want to see your ugly face every day!
