Thanks for the clarification! For some reason I had thought the 7t predated the M-4.0t, when in fact M-4.0t was released almost a year earlier.jjptkd wrote:Actually the 7t & 9t use the same parts as the M-4.0t & TFM 42 / 45fill35U wrote:Thanks for the nudie pics of the -7t. I knew they were M-1.5t derivatives, but I didn't realize they kept the same circuit boards as well!

It looks like they took the M-4.0t's schematic and just drew in the extra parts!
And your main amps all have matched sound.

Minus 1 amp board, same amount of output transistors. Which makes them beasts.fill35U wrote:Thanks for the clarification! Thanks Ray! Yeah todays been a combo day. Lately it has been strictly vinyl, but had to fire up some CD's a little while ago. The SD/A-490t was getting a little lonely.Magnaryder wrote:Nice rig Gene, very nice!!! Spin the vinyl Bro'

Re: Gene C's System
Nice Gene!!! You may want to consider moving the 490t to the top position in the stack because of the heat output generated by the tubes.
In reality, it only matters what it sounds like to YOU!!!
Re: Gene C's System
Those photos that I posted a few hours ago Wayne are of spare equipment in my closet. If you saw the photos (a thread or 2 back) You would see the 490t is on top of the TGP-III.kingman wrote:Nice Gene!!! Re: Gene C's System
It took some getting used to, Steve Ford turned me on to the 2M black. Hell who am I kidding Steve fueled my Vinyl frenzy, he was a huge help and influence.
Excellent! I enjoy my digital but I prefer vinyl. You might end up feeling the same way.

Yeah, I find myself listening to more vinyl than digital when I'm home. Just meant the cart took some getting used to. Had a Denon DL-110 cart before I liked very much, which is why the Ortofon took a little getting used to.
I'm sure your new cartridge is going through a break in period too.

200 hours is the recommended break in time, my old stylus was already broken in when one day it mysteriously broke.Snoop65 wrote:I'm sure your new cartridge is going through a break in period too.
