Give it time. Some folks may just want to wait. Different strokes for different folks.

If you are planning on attending Carverfest, this is not a bad idea if you don't want your wallet to be hit all at once come time for the event. ;)

Nah, I still think it's a good idea, remember X-mas is about a month away.

Gary [TNWabbit], you are coming come hell or high water!

Folks, if you are planning on coming we need to start talking about this now. I know the economy is tight and some of you can't make a contribution to the fund but I must say this......

Right now at this very moment, make a $15.00 per month contribution per person planning on attending and you will be fed like a King. This fund has largely been ignored and contributions have been given back to the forum in other ways, but now is the time to start talking about it again.

Anything you can contribute will make the stay that much more luxurious and memorable! Those that made the last CF know what went down for food and suds and have NO issues with that. What I'm trying to accomplish is that we have the same great amenities this year.

Try to make it happen as we go along and keep in mind.....if you can't contribute to the food/suds fund, you can't afford a room. :-s

Re: CarverFest 08' (PayPal account)

James, just out of curiosity, where does the fund for suds and food stand right now? We are down to 5 months to go. My dough that was transferred to the forum upgrade fund will be replenished in approx. two months, FYI.

So add another $214.00 [for Kim and I] to the total we have already and let's see where we stand.

Remember folks, last year we bought from convenience stores and overpriced markets. This year we are playing it smart an doing bulk buying at Sam's Club [for food] and Frugal McDougals [for suds]. This will make the purchases go WAAAAAAAAAAAY further than last year's "on a whim" purchases. Not to mention, we are planning all meals in advance, so there will be no wasted $$$.

Re: CarverFest 08' (PayPal account)

It has recently been brought to my attention that there is some confusion as to what this PayPal account is for. I see that Toymaker's links on the first post of the thread has gone bad. This is [I think] the link that he provided......

viewtopic.php?f=31&t=3386&start=0

This is what the $$$ is going toward. All meals will be covered for those that add to the fund. As you see in the link above, the $$$ will be well spent. No MickeyD's for those that attend. Real gourmet meals is more like it. Plenty of snack foods will be provided, as well as soda, suds and the main course meals will also be provided.

Last year, we calculated how much everybody had spent on feeding themselves and IIRCC, the total was around $750.00. We decided to make this PP account so those that attend won't have to spend additional $$$ running to the store, hauling their own food down, blah, blah, blah. If everybody donates $105.00 per person to the food, drinks and suds account, we will all eat like Kings and nobody will spend a dime on food for the entire event. No matter how much you eat.

If you have any questions, just ask.
