Anybody up for some white water rafting?

While we are there, some of us could enjoy some white water rafting. Extremely cheap rates and beautiful scenery going down 8 1/2 miles of the Nantahala River. If you do go rafting, you will see the train line with the old time train cars passing by. The train line follows the river. Mild category three river, changing to a category 2 river when water levels are down.

So far we have ;

engtaz and son
zoothorn and [maybe] wife
treitz3
dyeraudio and dad
F1nut
jvandyketx
Rainman and wife

I don't know if thall and his wife wants to go. If you do thall, LMK. The whitewater rafting trip will be Friday morning at 11:00am. Please post on this thread if you are interested in going down the Nantahala. Thanks, TREX.

Oh hell yeah!
Political Correctness...defined

A doctrine fostered by a delusional, illogical minority and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

In a recent press conference, President Obama remarked, "If I had a city, it would look just like Detroit."

Anybody else up for rafting? I know that there were some I have talked to on the phone that wanted to go, but with all else that's been going on, I forgot who wanted to go.

The Nantahala river is what we will be going down, FYI. \:D/

Re: Anybody up for some white water rafting?

I just checked the NOC website, and it appears that they have openings for the days of CF--I've never been down the Nantahala,,but I understand that it is relatively short but fun filled compared to other longer runs where you end up paddling a bunch.

Re: Anybody up for some white water rafting?

Ok, the first post has been updated folks. It looks like right now we have about 9 folks going down the Nantahala river. Who else would like to join us? Did I forget anyone? 8-[

Re: Anybody up for some white water rafting?

I've done that run...it was pretty white knuckled since water levels were very high. With the drought, it should still be fun, and the spouses could do it - as long as they aren't above class 3.

Cruise Tail of the Dragon at deals Gap.

318 curves in 11 miles. Its like listening to 4000 watts for those that like cool roads.
it's heavily patrolled now so there aren't as many crashes...but the Tree of Shame still has plenty of decoration:
