I was at my buddies a/v store a couple of weeks ago and his Energy rep was there, who also happens to be the Sunfire rep in our area. Of course, we had a long conversation! He told me that Bob is still going to be very much a part of Sunfire after the sale to Elan. I am skeptical of course after what happened the first time around. :-k

Just my take but Phase Linear lost Bob, Phase Linear corp folded a couple of yrs later. Carver Corp lost Bob, Carver Corp folded a couple of yrs later. Bob sells Sunfire to Elen, Elen see he's more than just a company man but a household name that people trust in the man himself, than his product. No man no company. Elen keeps Bob so Sunfire won't fold in a couple of yrs. So far so good........to be cont............................. :-#

I just hope Bob Carver won't turn into Henry Kloss and be the "product selling tool" and just come into the office or go to audio shows when the company needs to have there image polished. I know every thing is fake out there, just kinda hope it won't happen to Mr Carver.

Not sure how much Elen lets Bob interact with new products ideas, as i'm sure Elen has a road map of the direction there going and for sure not directed with Bob's values and style. :-({|=

It would be cool to see Bob start another small amp company as Sunfire don't want sales from us. There to expensive unless used. Would be nice to be able to buy a New product from Bob Carver that we common folk could afford off the shelf. Like I said just my take :-#

I had dinner with Bob a week ago, and he's still designing amps and speakers.
He's quite proud of his latest CRM-2 Ribbons.
There's a review in Aug "the absolute sound."

He made a comment that his retirement plan was to "work until I drop."
He's as innovative as ever.

I think it was neat that "OUR" James had a chance to talk to Bob Carver one-on-one over dinner. They are both similarly schooled and designers of some distinction in their own right. My paparazzo assigned to James caught them entering the restaurant in an undisclosed place north of Seattle.

Is that carbon figer housing for the ribbon, the legs, or the woofers? If for the ribbon housing, would that tame the 7k notch resonance? Have you ever tried making a wider opening to the ribbons?

Man, I hope those happen; they would be WICKED cool. Can't imagine they'd be very cheap,though....
