>>>2009 West Coast CarverFest Feeler Thread<<<

Post by Mr. M-500t » Wed Sep 17, 2008 7:50 pm

If anybody is interested in helping plan one PM me.
I'm thinking about trying to get something together before school starts or sooner.
Anybody have any thoughts ?
How many West Coasters do we have ?

I'm thinking Central or Southern Oregon somewhere. Haven't really looked yet.

I know of at least 2 other locations that were under consideration on the west coast Rick, 1 in Washington State and the other in Southern BC, Canada. The reason for Washington state was to make it close to the Carver/Sunfire birthplace and possibly visit the (hypothetical) Carver Museum. BC would make things more exotic as in visiting a new country as a vacation.

Time to open up the discussions and start planning

Way to step up to the plate Rick! Let me know how I can be of assistance, I would be glad to help in any way that I can.

The best way to enjoy digital music reproduction is to never listen to a good analogue reproduction.

That would be the day after the long weekend we just had.

Distancewise it is probably close to the same as where CF was held this year. Timewise, it IS less than a year away .... O:)

Being in the other side of the continent, the distance is a greater issue for me of course. So much so that a west coast fest might cause me to not be able to attend.
But my main concern is that the present location and facilities look just about perfect. I mean, from the pics I have seen, could there be more beautiful surroundings?

You really haven't seen the west coast have you ?
I'm not trying to thwart the East Coast CF at all. I would just like the chance to participate in one.
I'm just fishing for willing West Coasters that might want to get together for one of our own, maybe before or while the East Coast one is going on. {Sounds} Fun !
Of course all who would like to attend are welcome.

Actually been both on the west coast (Oregon and Washington) and through the Carolinas and loved them both. Just meant there was a rightness to the present location is all.
Ok, get what you are thinking of now. Thanks for the clarification!

I guess that you are right about the distance thing bigerik. Just measured the line of sight distance and the West Coast is almost 4 times the distance physically, but in my mind it seems far closer, even almost the same distance psychologically. Maybe because non-stop flying from here to Vancouver BC seems like a short flight (even if it takes like 5 hours) but going down to NC seems to be quite a bit more complicated with several stopovers and a fairly long drive from any airport remotely close by.
