The distance thing really sucks for a lot of us doesn't it ?
Marc,
To answer your earlier suggestion, well ?
Trying to haul a shitload of electronics gear through customs doesn't sound like much fun to me.
I can only imagine what might happen to it all' and us ? Scary.

That was one of the issues that caused initial plans for something in BC not to get off the ground very well. Maybe the almost dozen lower mainland BC members could organize their own mini CF. I know someone wanted to have one in or arond Toronto but with about half a dozen members or so, it might not be possible. So, Washington State or Oregon seems to be it for now if the West coasters want their own CF.

I always knew you were a reasonable man Marc.
To bad about that Northern border between us.

Just throwing out ideas here Rick. Not like I'd be able to attend in any one of the proposed locations.

But my main concern is that the present location and facilities look just about perfect. I mean, from the pics I have seen, could there be more beautiful surroundings?
You really haven't seen the west coast have you ?
I'm not trying to thwart the East Coast CF at all. I would just like the chance to participate in one.
I'm just fishing for willing West Coasters that might want to get together for one of our own, maybe before or while the East Coast one is going on. {Sounds} Fun !
Of course all who would like to attend are welcome.
-defecters welcome ???

I've been looking for a location since I got off the plane from NC. I found one in central Ca. Iy is called "Zaca Lake"
I want all of you to google it and check it out.
It seems a little "rustic" (read primative) especially after the watershed cabins. We are not likely to find another place like that on the west coast. I don't know what the cost is but one advantage is a full restaurant style kitchen available. The cabins (most of them) however don't have kitchens. None have TV etc. But all have elect. though they are smaller.
I was thinking of a mini fest in Feb (when its cold back east) to give incentive.
I will post more when I get more info.

I like it Frank.
What are the prices per night ?
I was going to try to find something in Oregon so it was closer for the Washington members.
It'll be close to 800 miles for me.
