I could listen to Norah Jones and Alison Krauss all day long. Wonder what the MMG would sound like with the tubes driving them???

In my book this just goes to show that good things do happen to good people and Rhino is definitely "good people"! He had inquired about a place to crash at carverfest so we informed him that he was more than welcome to stay in our cabin. He arrived in the middle of the night and decided to sleep in his truck until morning rather than take a chance on waking people up in our cabin. This was not what I would have expected especially since we told him to stay with us, but that shows his consideration of others is above and beyond what is considered "acceptable"!
I was happy to see him end up winning the drawing for those amps! After all he did travel a long way to join us for such a short visit not to mention when he left for home he had no idea he was even going to be in the drawings for anything........

I finally spoke to Bob tonight, the first time since the fest, and it struck me again; what a really nice guy he is. We talked about the fest, the forum, and how he was completely unaware of this group until a couple months before. He reiterated how much fun he had and spoke of his intentions to return. He was genuinely interested in what I thought of his tube amps and explained a little of his thought process when designing and testing them. I'm sure I came across like a stammering idiot, but Bob was completely gracious and genuine.

Mostly Bob explained how the human ear loves to hear differences and how that adds to perception. So both amps are not set with exactly the same bias. The slight difference, Bob says, is barely perceptible but gives your ears something more with which to be involved. I would have believed that a pair of monoblocks would present the best if they were matched exactly. This is not true according to Bob. He also believes the older transformers to be better than the more modern.
