500 ManCave

Post by Mr. M-500t » Sun Oct 05, 2008 6:15 pm

I thought you guys might like an update on the new arrangement.
Yes you'll notice my AL-III's have been ripped apart. Got tired of the rattles.
The next time you see them you won't recognize them. I think I'll call them the Un-AL-III's plus 2's.
Anyways, here you go...............................

My 3 M-500t's M-0.5t, Bills M-400t and RichP's M-500t MK-II

You guys should hear this thing. I'm driving my ribbons with one of my 500's through the C-11 and the Rane AC-22 Active.

I sure am having fun. I've been messing around all weekend. :D :D :D

Yes I do miss the shelf. This is all just kinda whipped together for now.
I'll be taking care of the shelf shortage when the rains begin.

Ok, I'll ask. What the hell happened with the ALIII's?
In search of accurate reproduction of music. Real sound is my reference and while perfection may not be attainable? If I chase it, I might just catch excellence.

The best way to enjoy digital music reproduction is to never listen to a good analogue reproduction.

Gary, it's the same thing that was wrong with them a year ago. The bass cabinets rattle at specific frequency's and it really annoys me.

It was either the bottom board that holds the woofer or the steel bracket that holds the ribbon boards on the bottom. I couldn't quite nail it down.
In any case Gary they are history. I gutted them and will be making new speakers.

That's a wall of sound alright!! Those ribbons are looking kinda lonely though. Hope you get them running again.
