John, the one thing you need to understand is that Bob was talking about someone he knew nothing about......yet to him, sounded snotty and since he is human he just spoke his mind. Doro? Oh, come on man. We are talking about Doro for heaven's sake. He throws shit out there to stir the pot all the time. This time it worked.

Rule of thumb. Take what Doro says and try to get the humor or sarcasm out of it. He's actually a quite knowledgeable guy, respectable and a good person if you can believe it or not. Those that don't know him and his normal comments may not see this. Stick around and give it time. After a while, you'll see the bigger picture.

I plan on it, just wish people actually read each post before they assign blame for bullshit to someone without thinking....

Just stopped by to see what all the houhah was about.

A few points, if I may:

1. The word, "facetious" would apply to the posts made by Doro and Ricardo over on Polk
Audio.

When Ricardo asked, "Who is this Bob Carver fellow ?", he was being facetious. Is there anyone who's even half-way into Audio that hasn't at least heard of Bob Carver ? Of course not.

When Doro makes the statement, "Bob Carver is a rube", is there anyone on the face of the planet that thinks for one microsecond that Doro is even minutely serious ?
Unfortunately, it appears so.
To which I'd have to say, "Good grief !!!".

2. Bob Carver makes good gear. He makes REAL GOOD gear.
Do I own any ? Nope. I can't afford it, simple as that.
Does that make Bob Carver evil ? Heck no !
Bob Carver gear supplies a particular niche in the audio market as does Polk.
Does that make Matthew Polk evil ? Heck no !
Neither gentleman can be "Everything" in their field, from entry level to Uber-Ultra High
End, but each does an honest and respectful job and has contributed nicely to the field of Audio.

(I have heard) for a few different people now, that the Silver-9 Tube amps my father got his hands on are:
"The best Tube amps in the world"

Now just how realistic is that statement ??

I personaly don't khow enough about tubes to take sides with this.
There are obviously more expensive amps out there... but are any of them better ??
