So Rodney, yours are the Stu Hegeman Carvers and not the Tim Paravicini Carvers then.

DAMN!!! They shot up from just under $4600 to $5988 in the last 30 seconds! Someone REALLY wanted those!

OBI
..I asked Bob, the question of how to tell the difference between
the Carver/Hegeman mono's and the Carver/de Paravacini mono's and by his reply he lists the tubes
for the front end which effect the 6550's or kt88's
..we now will be able to know which design each amp is, I loved Bob's reply

I knew mine had the KT88's so I have no excuse for the brain fart. De Paravicini for me. So far I believe there are only 2 pairs of the Hegemans, but lives country might know for sure.

I also could not believe it jumped over $1k in the end. I was lucky enough to sit down at my computer last night about 2 minutes before the auction ended. Just kept refreshing to see what the end sale price would be. I wish I had $6k to spend on an amp!OBI56 wrote:DAMN!!! They shot up from just under $4600 to $5988 in the last 30 seconds! I know and I'll meet him one day to shake his hand. If anybody asks though? I know nothing.

...by god!
It seems to me the first write up was with Bob and Tim, design discussion...
and the second design discussion write up was Bob and Stu.....
....the first taking place on the west coast in California somewhere?
....the second taking place on the east coast New York somewhere?
both at audio show times.....would that mean the amps came out in that order?
.............if so, holy cow eh!

Re: Bob's New new amps.... Mmm Eye Candy Red
Hi Tom
You got me thinking...do you recall this pm?
..And I remembered our intro at the time of your pm to me, way back,......sheet..... time sure flies eh!
Ha..all u guys got me thinking again about the history from the start of these tube mono's and do we over look: sir Tubular Joe, seems to me that he is a big part of this new realm, no?
I wonder if we shouldn't document a list of types and owners, from conception of these wonders, they are definetly beautiful and sound "damm good"
or let em all fade into history and create the excitement like Toy Maker et all, have found with the Silver Seven, pre's and amps? Gotta admit quite the excitement, in Makers corner. Ha I am keeping track of your end ToyMaker, one never knows eh!
I've claimed a hold on my OCCD...but still have an idea or two
I'm not much of a photo type guy but, wondered if a photo album of the personalised tube amps historically, and how they are being used in real time today
Must admit, gotta be careful of suggestions, as life's duties haven't afforded the time I would like on this great forum...but always keep in touch with all the threads..great stuff and definetly a part of my life.

I was following this latest auction and this thread...Very nice response. Thank you! Yes, we will definitely talk again! Congrat's on the purchase as well. You are holding a bit of audio history in your hands my friend! No doubt about that.

Re: Bob's New new amps.... Mmm Eye Candy Red
Well... Bob is the only one that has the personal info of the people buying them. Unless any of us can email the winners, I don't know how to keep track of them at all...
Making a spot of the forum is easy, gettting them to come is the hard part.
